Santa's Castle began in 1962 with the purchase of four animated elves for $150 and now is regarded as one of the largest and most valuable displays of antique, animated Christmas characters in the world.

These unique figures once graced the store windows of some of the finest department stores in the world. They have found their permanent home here, in Storm Lake's historic Carnegie Library, which is on the National Register of Historic Places.

Imagine the sparkle in the eyes of children as they are mesmerized by the priceless collection of animated scenes displayed before them. Beautiful ladies ice skate on a frozen pond. Little mice frolic in a winter carnival. A family of goats causes a ruckus in the middle of the night on Christmas Eve.
